Dr. Katie Davis is a Columbia, SC, native who joined the practice in 2014. She is a third generation eye care provider. Her passion is to help those that struggle from vision problems in school, work or life whether while growing up and learning or after a traumatic brain injury. She completed her undergraduate education at the College of Charleston with a degree in Anthropology. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with clinical honors. Upon graduation, she won two faculty elected awards: The Gas Permeable Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence and the Good-Lite Pediatric Equipment Award. In the 2016, she was awarded the Optometric Horizon Award by the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association (SCOPA). The recipient must have exhibited initiative and involvement in the SCOPA and community within five years of graduation from optometry school. She serves as the new member director on the Membership Board for the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association and the Vision Rehabilitation Committee Chair. She is currently working on her board certification from the College of Vision Development.
Outside of the office, Dr. Davis is a member of the Junior League of Charleston and on the Advancement Committee for the Association for the Blind of Charleston. She enjoys travel, spending her time outdoors, and kayaking or jogging. She is an avid reader and enjoys her continuing her education in the field of specialty contact lenses, vision development, vision rehabilitation and the neurology of vision.
